sticky situation 1

a hard pipe - not a flexible steel hose - connects your toilet (or sink) to the water supply

Tushy Tip:

Bathroom fixtures usually connect to water supply valves with flexible steel hoses because those hoses easily adapt to any fixture. Got a hard pipe instead? We’ve got ya covered.
Replace the pipe between your toilet and water supply with the cool water flexible hose before installing Tushy. We show you how to do that right here.

For Warm+Cool Tushy owners: Replace the pipe between the warm water supply and your sink faucet, with the warm water flexible hose before installing Tushy.

sticky situation 2

Tushy’s adapters don’t fit your existing toilet connections

Tushy Tip:

This might happen if you have non-standard plumbing. Try twisting the adapter over the connection in both directions to confirm that it really doesn’t fit. "Righty tighty, lefty loosey" deceives if you’re turning from underneath!

Still not a fit? You have a beautiful and unique, non-standard water supply connection. Replace the plastic adapter with a 3/8″ metal adapter as pictured here.

sticky situation 3

you have a leak

Tushy Tip:

Maybe your adapter was placed on the threading incorrectly, or your existing connections (and their threading) just aren’t getting along. Here’s what to do!

- ALWAYS turn off the water supply valve before investigating a drip or leak!
- Unscrew and re-attach the adapter to the connection to make sure it’s straight. A common mistake is to overtighten here. Don’t do it! Finger tight is just right.
- Use plumbing tape to seal the connection. Here’s how to do that.
If you’re still leaking after all that, please contact Tushy customer support for further assistance and we help you get up and running again.

sticky situation 4

toilet seat doesn’t sit quite right

If your toilet seat gets wider in the back (not great for proper pooping posture anyway!) or has a funky hinge, it may not sit quite right after installing Tushy.

Or, if you have a lightweight plastic seat that doesn’t hold it’s own like traditional coated wood seats (“things aren’t made they way they used to be” - my mom), you might notice that the front of the seat lifts up slightly after installing Tushy.

Tushy Tip:

Attach inexpensive toilet seat bumpers between the seat and the bowl, or replace your seat with one of our favorites: This one for round toilet bowls and this one for elongated toilet bowls.
